[World Malayali Club] Husky

Husky /ˈhʌski/ is a general name for a type of dog used to pull sleds in northern regions, differentiated from other sled-dog types by their fast pulling style.[1] They are "an ever-changing cross-breed of the...fastest dogs."[1] The Alaskan Malamute, by contrast, is "the largest and most powerful" sled dog,[2] and was used for heavier loads. Huskies are used in sled dog racing. In recent years, companies have been marketing tourist treks with dog sledges for adventure travelers in snow regions as well.[3] Huskies are also today kept as pets, and groups work to find new pet homes for retired racing and adventure trekking dogs.[4]

Re: [World Malayali Club] Reservation

Mr. Gupta, you should not demean brahmins and other upper casteas inefficient and incompetent as they have by manipulation been enjoying reservation over a period. Bad on you. Really sorry. We never consider any Indian incompetent or inefficient. Shame on you. You are hurting the sentiments of everyone by considering Brahmins as incompetents.

Why reservation is needed - extract from Jethmalani's writing

Early in my life in Sindh ( now in Pakistan) where I was born I had been pained at the sight of the Harijan woman who came to our house to clean up the lavatories and remove the human excreta on a bucket she carried on her head. I was appalled but beyond a temporary revulsion against this sinful practice I could do nothing to stop it. The dreadful injustice of the Indian society came back into my consciousness when as a practising lawyer I read the Mandal Report . One paragraph of it stuck for ever in my memory "The real triumph of the caste system lies not in upholding the supremacy of the Brahimin , but in conditioning the consciousness of the lower castes in accepting their inferior status in the ritual hierarchy as a part of the natural order of things.. It was through an elaborate, complex and subtle scheme of scripture, mythology and ritual that Brahminism succeeded in investing the caste system with a moral authority that has been seldom effectively challenged even by the most ardent social reformers."

This is why first we should ensure abolition of caste system in society - instead of cribbing about reservation in jobs.

Once we ensure abolition of castes in society, then you will see a change where real merit will take precedence. Instead of cribbing about corrupt politicians, blame yourself for allowing the scourge of caste ism continue resulting in the corrupt upper castes continue to enjoy all the best things in life keeping majority of Indians outside getting even the basic facilities.

Dear friends,
Last year one of my nephews who stood under 1000 ranks in a medical entrance exam  came to me and said he failed to get a seat in any Gov.Medical college where as his classmate from a well to do reserved class family  stood above 6000 ranks got a seat in the college of his choice. My nephew was literally crying and asking me about this injustice. I had no answer for him . How many more years this will go on ? This has to end.

I totally disagree with you.  Giving reservation to a section of people, who are socially and economically backward by all means and have no wherewithal to continue with their studies or to obtain a Govt. job, should continue and it's a must also. One must understand that only meagre percentage has been kept for this purpose and a lion's share is still with the so-called forward community.  Once upon a time, the backward communities are treated so badly by the upper class, who just with their money power and social status, used to make these poor people as their servants or slaves in a shoddy manner and their blood used to be their daily diet.  Now, the times have changed, so the status of the backward communities.  Their presence is everywhere felt and they have truly become a natural challenger to the forward communities.  The Governments of the time have come up really well to meet their genuine demands and the status of the backward communities has gone up.   As an Indian, one must be proud to learn or see that the members of our so called backward communities had done their studies best and are now occupying prestigious positions in the Govt. Sector and in all fields.  This could not have happened but with the earnest outlook/farsightedness of the Governments in power.  In nutshell, as a person, my opinion is that the Reservation Policy should be continued with good spirit as still a major part of section of these people have to come up socially and financially well and one has to look forward and should do his/her bit to live upto the situation and help these hapless people, who are the victims of the destiny.

It is a fragile opinion that the reserved party will never get a better job, it goes by IQ.  I really feel that it is quite dangerous to carry such notions without realising the ground realities. This is a cruel line of thinking. One must see the writings on the wall.  Also, one must understand that in a society there are differently abled people.  Hence, some may be having good IQ and some may not be having.  What is to be borne in mind that all weaker sections, whether be it social, financial or having less IQ or learning, should also get equal status in the society as a human being and towards this end, the so called helping hand of the Governments of the time to uplift these sections.

Even reservation is there also.  The intelligent children will get top scoring mark and big big jobs. Try for it.  Why to cry for reservation.  The reserved party will never get a better job, it goes by IQ.  So do hard work and try to be number one in the Country.  See the change in life.

Sir, I totally agree with you. Reservation has not improved the society. But in other hand cunningly used by the politicians for their personal benefits. If it is not possible now, at least there should be immediately a thorough checking of the community certificates of those who are enjoying this reservation with this certificates. If it is a bogus one they should be sent to jail .Do this first and see what happens? even the wards of the political bigwigs and people with political backgrounds will get punishments.

All reservations should stop. It has not served its purpose it was intended for. Low economic status should be the only criteria for reservation. Here too if students are backward in their academic performance special arrangements even schools for them should be arranged so that they come up better and compete with rest of the students and gain access to higher studies. Just pushing them by giving grace marks will serve no purpose. There are many instances where students getting seat just by reservation with very low marks in entrance and basic qualifying exams. finding difficult to cope up with the studies and either stops studies or gets through after many attempts in exams."Vote bank" attitude on reservations should stop.

JUst give a thought! Reserved V/S Deserved 38 % of Doctors in US are Indians. 36% of NASA Scientists are Indians. 34% of Microsoft employees are Indians. 28% of IBM employees are Indians. 27% of Intel employees are Indians. 37% of Total scientists in US are Indians. Still India is backward and that is because of our selfish politicians who encourage Reserved more than Deserved! We have a lot of quantity but what we want is quality. Give a chance to the deserved rather than the reserved. Really talented people don't get what they deserve because they are not 'reserved'. Reservation should be abolished or soon INDIA will get abolished To prove the word equality in the constitution. As abroad India should offer free quality education and should sponsor scholarships for unprivileged poor student, reservation is just opposite to it.. So that the quality people and real talent can get opportunity. Due to reservations we're feeling guilty, because undeserved people are getting seats and thus we are failing to show equality even if we want. Reservation system is affecting education system. Reservation system should be abolished because it is associated with the castes rather than the economically backward. It was meant to end, not to increase with time. Because the reserved are preferred over the deserved and that reserved is undeserving. Because if this system continues.... India was developing country... India is developing country... and India will be a developing country for ever. If reservation policy continues it will lead to the "murder of merit". Because generals are also human beings and they are neither born with extra ordinary brains, they've a silver spoon in their mouth. Because the demon of Casteism is growing on account of reservation. People make fake caste certificates and taking the seats and scholarships of the talented ones. If the deserved people had got reservation, India could have become a developed country. Poverty and backwardness does not recognise any caste. For the accomplishment of equal opportunity to deserving candidates... Because it breaks the unity of the country. So that all people may feel that they are being treated equally! Even after 60 years of reservation system, they still need reservation. It means, they just don't deserve it! And these are the bad bones of RESERVATION.
